AI

AI in Trace is optional and always triggered by you — for example recording prompt use or generating a grounded Process Summary draft. Nothing is analyzed in the background.

When you use an AI feature, the selected content will be sent to the AI provider for processing. Only the minimum data needed for that operation leaves your device. Your records are never modified without your confirmation.

Use a different model (optional)

Leave Model / Base URL blank to keep the built-in default. Any OpenAI-compatible chat completions endpoint works.

Trace remains fully usable without AI. Enter your own API key above (or set the AIPROVIDER_API_KEY environment variable) to enable it.

Backup & restore

Export all data (JSON)

The export includes every record plus uploaded evidence files in a single JSON file. Keep it somewhere safe — importing it later restores everything exactly as it was.

Bin

Deleted projects, traces, sources and evidence stay here until you remove them permanently. Items are automatically purged after 30 days. Restoring a project also restores the traces, evidence and chains that were deleted together with it — anything binned separately before that stays in the Bin.

The Bin is empty.

Clear local data

Clears preferences stored in this browser (theme, summary visibility). Database records are not affected.
